I joined the St Catherine’s lifeboat as crew in 1983. As the station developed I crewed the D class ILB, the C class ILB and then the Atlantic 21 B class as relief helm. I retired in 1996 due to the lower age limits then imposed. However, I continued as shore crew and was made the station’s Deputy Launching Authority, a position which I still hold for the RNLI in Jersey.
