Bjorn Risebrow

Born and raised in Jersey I have, like a lot of islanders, developed a strong interest in the sea, the coast and anything maritime! I messed around in boats from an early age learning the basics, and this hobby has developed into a lifelong passion. My day job for the last 11 years has meant that I have built up a fair amount of experience in Search and Rescue operations. During this time I have always had a tremendous amount of respect for all the lifeboat crews past and present who give of their time freely to help people in distress at sea, at any time and in any weather. I joined the RNLI in 2018 and have spent a lot of time, as have others, training and converting our skills and experience to put it to use as a member of the team with RNLI Jersey. Life-boating gives a great sense of camaraderie and team spirit whilst helping others and working for the ultimate goal of saving lives at sea.
